STP are very similar to the way the normal septic tanks workbut mechanical components provide additional processes to help break down the solids so as to produce a more cleaner and environment friendly effluent.

Waste water and sewage from large number of properties are fed in primary settlement tank where solida and liquids seperate and the liqour flows into the biozone or areation chamber where a areator diffuses air or oxygen into the waste thereby encouraging the good bacteria to digest the organic matter thus breaking the organic matter dowm and purifying it.

As the water leaves the final chamber also known as settling chamber, the effluent is 95% clean and ready for discharge into local water courses ,ditches or land drainage systems.

To meet the ever increasing demand of waste water treatment , new plants need to be constructed which again take large spaces which are a constraint today in our towns.

To combat the above issue , FAB technology was developed to treat larger volumes in lesser time periods.

FAB , as the name suggests consists of floating media of cylinderical shapes of different sizes.

FAB includes a storage tank of any shape ans filled with small carrier elements. These elements are especially developed materials of controlled density such that they can be fluidised using an aereation device. A bio - film develops on the element which moves alongwith the effluent within the bio reactor. The FAB element provides a very large surface area which by increasing the biomass activity reduces the operating cost.

Diffusers are placed below the reactor which allow the movement of element in the reactor. The thin bio film on the element enable the bacteria to act upon the bio degradable matter and reduce the BOD/COD content in presence of oxygen from air.

Hence FAB is a much better technology since it saves both power and space which is contrary to convential waste water treatment plants that require large spaces , are power intensive and need continous monitoring.

  • Non operational / un economical waste water treatment plants can be upgraded into FAB reactors.
  • E Coli removal - treated sewage outlet coliform count is of high standards thus reducing chlorine dosage.
